Maharashtra: Covid-19 and lockdown leads to scarcity of blood in blood banks

There is lack of blood in the blood banks of Maharashtra including Mumbai. The Maharashtra government is appealing to the people to join the blood donation so that the lives of people can be saved in the growing crisis of Corona. We talked to Dr. Arun Thorat, Assistant Director of Maharashtra State Blood Transfusion Council over the blood crisis situation. According to him, the closure of schools, colleges, social institutions and corporate companies led to this.
