Why use religion as a political tool in Delhi riots case?

AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan slammed Delhi Police and Centre after chargesheet was filed against former AAP councillor Tahir Hussain for his alleged role in Delhi riots. Khan alleged that Tahir is being framed for being a Muslim. Meanwhile, BJP has clapped back saying that Arvind Kejriwal should also say the same thing as Amanatullah Khan if he believes his MLA.

The only question here is why religion politics being done for an accused of Delhi riots?
