By the end of Tuesday’s rescue operations, over 800 people had been safely evacuated, but the death toll may rise as many are feared trapped under debris. The landslides destroyed homes, flooded rivers, and uprooted trees, leaving residents with no chance to escape. The army, navy, and NDRF are working amid severe weather to assist victims. Rescue operations were paused on Tuesday and will resume Wednesday morning. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan reported that the bodies are being identified and handed to families.
