The 20 soldiers, including a commanding officer, martyred in Galwan valley in eastern Ladakh, hailed from different parts of India: from Punjab in North to West Bengal in the west and Bihar in the east. Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu was from Telangana. Their mortal remains after ceremonial send-off were flown to their hometowns.
