The Indian Railways, eyeing to increase its revenue share, decided to hike the fares of the passenger trains from one paise per kilometer, sleeper class fare by 2 paise per kilometer and for 3AC, 2AC and AC first class by four paise per kilometer from Wednesday. Aviation Turbine Fuel prices were increased by 2.6 per cent on Wednesday to Rs 64,323.76 per kilolitre from Rs 62,686.51, while non-subsidised LPG gas prices were hiked by Rs 19 to Rs 714 from Rs 695.
