War of words erupt after Centre announces to merge Amar Jyoti with flame of National War Memorial

In the run-up to Republic Day, the Centre announced that the eternal flame at Amar Jawan Jyoti will be doused on Friday after 50 years and merged with the flame at the adjacent National War Memorial (NWM).  The Amar Jawan Jyoti was extinguished by the BJP government, slammed Congress. Rahul Gandhi, the former Congress chief, lashed out, saying that some individuals don't understand patriotism and sacrifice and that the Congress will relight the Amar Jawan Jyoti.
