Sources indicate that the Congress may also form alliances with the SP for the Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections, potentially leaving some seats for the SP in both states. Talks have commenced between the SP and Congress regarding the bypolls in Uttar Pradesh as well. However, the exact distribution of seats between the Congress and SP will be determined after further discussions.
Nine of the 10 vacant seats in UP resulted from the MLAs' victories, including five held by the SP, three by the BJP, and one each by BJP allies RLD and Nishad Party.
