View In AppPrime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Parliament before the Union Budget 2024 presentation. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to present the Union Budget 2024 in Parliament today, marking her seventh consecutive budget and eclipsing the late Morarji Desai's record of six consecutive budgets. The budget is likely to focus on changes in the income tax structure and improving the ease of doing business in India. Sitharaman is set to make history on Tuesday by presenting her seventh consecutive budget for the fiscal year 2024-25. With this, she will surpass the record of former Prime Minister Morarji Desai. However, Desai still has the record for the most budget presentations. Sitharaman, who will turn 65 next month, was appointed India's first full-time female Finance Minister in 2019. Since then, she has presented six consecutive budgets, including an interim budget in February this year. The full budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 will be her seventh successive budget. She will surpass Desai's record of presenting five consecutive full budgets and one interim budget between 1959 and 1964.
