Truth behind rumors of power grid failure due to Modi's appeal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi appeal to turn off lights and light diyas at 9 pm on Sunday has triggered several debates and rumors. One of them is that the power grid will fail due to electricity blackouts in the country. 

The Ministry of Power on Friday clarified that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal was to switch off the lights in homes for 9 minutes on April 5, and not the street lights or other electrical appliances. The clarification came after the power breakdown issue was raised by some.
