Police forcibly removes CAA protesters in Varanasi

Police has forcibly removed protesters from Beniyabagh area in Varanasi. The protesters were there to stage demonstration against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Police removed them and locked down the area. The area has high Muslim population. The local administration cracked down on the protest to prevent any long sit-in in Varanasi on the lines of those in Lucknow and Prayagraj. Varanasi is the Lok Sabha constituency of PM Modi.
