Khan, who is 69 years old, was unable to vote since he was not present. Members of his party staged a walkout. On a day marked by drama and many adjournments in the lower house, the unified Opposition received 174 votes in the 342-member National Assembly, surpassing the required 172 votes to remove the prime minister.
