View In AppBefore the move was cancelled in the National Assembly, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was widely expected to lose a no-confidence vote on Sunday, as the combined opposition parties had gathered the support of nearly 200 lawmakers – more than the 172 needed in the 342-member House to oust the premier. The government said that the no-confidence resolution violated Article 5 of the Constitution, which states that "Loyalty to the State is the essential obligation of every citizen," and that the effort was the result of a "foreign conspiracy."
