Nivar Cyclone: Heavy rains lash across Chennai, several TN cities; alert issued

This cyclonic storm in the Bay of Bengal will hit the coast of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry at a speed of about 130 km per hour. Heavy rains before the storm have shown its impact in the coastal regions of the state ahead of the cyclone.

Several cities including Chennai have been receiving heavy rains since Tuesday and the Meteorological Department has already issued warnings of heavy rains. Even before the storm, its impact is visible in southern areas in India.
