Nirbhaya Case: Convict Mukesh's mercy plea sent to Home Ministry by Delhi LG

Delhi government recommended rejection of the mercy plea of Nirbhaya gangrape and murder case convict Mukesh and forwarded it to Lt. Governor on Wednesday evening. The LG has now forwarded the plea to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. The Home Ministry in turn will forward the plea to the President with its own recommendation. 

The execution of the convicts will not take place on January 22, because of the mercy petition filed by Mukesh, soon after the rejection of the curative petition by the SC.
