Pradhan declared that the government will form a high-level panel to examine the National Testing Agency's (NTA) operations, calling the leak of the UGC-NET exam question paper a "institutional failure" of the NTA, according to PTI. In a news conference, Pradhan warned the opposition parties not to politicize the matter and gave his word that those found guilty, including "top" NTA personnel, would face severe consequences. There were strong hints, prior to the hurriedly called news conference, that the minister would declare the exam canceled and take action against NTA DG Subodh Kumar Singh, who had been called in by the ministry earlier in the day.
