NCP leader Babasaheb Patil is in support of Sharad Pawar

In a dramatic turn of events, BJP's Devendra Fadnavis took oath as Chief Minister of Maharashtra early on Saturday morning along with NCP leader Ajit Pawar as his deputy. However, NCP chief Sharad Pawar soon distanced himself from Ajit Pawar's decision, calling it his "personal" choice. President's rule was imposed in Maharashtra on November 12, 18 days after the results of the elections were declared as none of the parties were able to form a government in the state.
