Called “Mumbai Bagh”, the protest was organised by the Joint Action Committee on the lines of the ongoing Shaheen Bagh protest in Delhi. Holding placards and raising slogans against the two laws, the women sat down on the road outside the Arabia Hotel near Nagpada.
Mumbai police have tightened grip over the ongoing protest in the area. The police are now checking the documents of the protesters as they begin to gather in a larger number on Monday. The police officials are asking for names and ID cards of the ones becoming a part of the protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
