Heavy rain lashed parts of Haryana's Ambala on July 17. According to IMD, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 36 degrees Celsius and 28 degrees Celsius respectively. IMD has predicted light to moderate rainfall in the state until July 19.
In Uttar Pradesh, 1571 villages across 69 tehsils in 20 districts have been affected by floods. Urban areas in Bareilly, Pilibhit, and Shahjahanpur are also flooded, causing disruption to residents. Approximately 14.80 lakh people have been affected, with 5.29 lakh individuals experiencing losses in agriculture, housing, household goods, and livestock. CM Yogi has instructed concrete efforts to address waterlogging alongside flood management. He emphasized the cleaning of drains and ensuring the functionality of pumping stations in urban areas to facilitate drainage from low-lying areas. Additionally, alternative arrangements for gensets have been urged to ensure the continuous operation of pumping stations in urban regions.
