View In AppTuesday, October 29, marked the last day for filing nominations in Maharashtra, with candidates finalizing their entries well into the afternoon. While some candidates were fully prepared, others rushed to submit their papers at the last minute, leading to delays for both alliances. According to a statement from the Chief Electoral Officer's office, a total of 7,995 candidates filed 10,905 nominations with the Election Commission for the elections scheduled on November 20. The current picture for both alliances reveals that in the Mahayuti coalition, out of 288 seats, the BJP is contesting on 148 seats, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) on 80 seats, and the NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) on 53 seats. Additionally, 6 seats are allocated to other parties, and 1 seat has been reserved for the MNS.
