View In AppUnion Home Minister Amit Shah addressed an election rally in Sangli, Maharashtra, on Friday, where he launched a direct attack on Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. Shah criticized Gandhi, saying, "Rahul Baba, the Constitution is not just a matter of promotion, it is about faith and trust." He further alleged, "You ask for votes in the name of the Constitution and yet deceive people; the pages of the Constitution were blank. This is an insult to the Constitution and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar." Shah also compared the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections to Haryana, claiming that the opposition alliance, Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), would face the same fate as Congress did in Haryana. He pointed out that Uddhav Thackeray wants his son Aditya Thackeray to become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, while Sharad Pawar has similar aspirations for his daughter Supriya Sule. In Congress, several leaders have their eyes on the Chief Minister's post. Shah was addressing the rally to garner support for BJP candidates from Shirala and Islampur constituencies ahead of the November 20 elections. Shah also claimed that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge himself admits that the promises made by his party are unrealistic. Meanwhile, the political storm continues over the red-colored copy of the Constitution in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. Rahul Gandhi had brought a red-covered copy of the Constitution to the Constitution Respect Conference in Nagpur on Wednesday. The BJP accused him of presenting a blank document, while Congress responded, stating that red is considered auspicious in Hinduism.
