View In AppVoting for the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 concluded on Monday across all 49 parliamentary constituencies spanning eight states and Union Territories. Additionally, polling ended on 35 Assembly constituencies in Odisha for the Legislative Assembly. By 5 PM, the voter turnout stood at 56.68 per cent for the fifth phase of elections. The turnout figures varied across states. The states and Union Territories involved in the fifth phase were Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. Notable cities like Mumbai, Amethi, Thane, and Lucknow witnessed voting, areas historically known for lower voter turnout. Polling began at 7 AM and concluded at 6 PM across constituencies. Approximately 9.47 lakh polling officials were deployed to maintain law and order and ensure fair polling.
