Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday countered Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s “working for Maa, Maati, Manush” slogan, saying the party was now catering to “Mullah, Madrasa and Mafia”.

The senior Bharatiya Janta Party leader said this while addressing a rally at Bongaon in the North 24 Parganas. The Union Home Minister said the TMC government provided a monthly honorarium to Imams but not a penny to priests and custodians of temples.

Addressing a poll rally in West Bengal, Amit Shah also accused Mamata Banerjee of spreading falsehoods over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
