In a related development, Kolkata Police have suspended three officers, including two Assistant Commissioners, for failing to prevent vandalism at RG Kar Medical College and for not taking appropriate action. A departmental inquiry is underway. Additionally, the CBI plans to conduct a polygraph test on Sanjay Roy, the accused in the Kolkata rape and murder case, to ascertain the accuracy of his statements. This comes in response to Supreme Court criticism.
