Kolkata Nabanna News: Victim's Father Accuses Mamata Government Over Lathi Charge on Students

In Kolkata, the father of the victim has condemned the lathi charge on students protesting for justice for the female doctor. He accused the Mamata Banerjee government of attempting to suppress the movement. The students, whom he praised, were protesting to secure justice for his daughter. He also questioned the actions of the Kolkata police and expressed trust in the CBI investigation. In West Bengal, widespread protests are ongoing over the rape and murder case of a doctor. During yesterday's 'Nabanna Protest,' the West Bengal police resorted to lathi charges to disperse students. In response to this police action, the BJP has called for a 12-hour bandh in Bengal today, which will last until 6 PM. Yesterday, Kolkata police used lathi charges, tear gas, and water cannons to break up the crowd heading towards Nabanna. The demonstrators were protesting the rape and murder of a female doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital and were demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The protests highlight growing frustration over the state's handling of the case and calls for justice for the victim.
