Kanwar Yatra 2021: Political uproar in Uttar Pradesh begins

Uttar Pradesh's Yogi Adityanath government has decided to go forward with Kanwar Yatra amid the pandemic and now the move is being called out by many including the opposition. The SC has also issued a notice over allowing the Kanwar Yatra from the upcoming week despite the threat of a spike in COVID-19 cases. Meanwhile, the Uttarakhand government has already cancelled it seeing the gravitas of the situation. The yatra was also scrapped last year because of the pandemic and lockdown.
