What happened so far-
The Supreme Court halted the North Delhi Municipal Corporation's demolition effort in Jahangirpuri to clear encroachments, which began on Wednesday, April 20. The demolitions have been put on hold until the Supreme Court hears the matter on Thursday. Back-to-back violent incidents occurred on April 16, Hanuman Jayanti, and April 18, in Jahangirpuri. People accused of rioting in Jahangirpuri, according to the Delhi BJP, had constructed "illegal constructions" in the area, which they demanded be demolished. The North Delhi Municipal Corporation declared an anti-encroachment action in the region on Wednesday and Thursday.
