View In AppPrime Minister Narendra Modi expressed happiness on International Yoga Day on Friday (June 21, 2024) in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, saying that it is historic. He said that yoga is becoming a part of daily life in many countries of the world. PM Modi said that Saudi Arabia has included yoga in its education. Yoga is growing rapidly in Europe also. Research on yoga is being done in big institutions of the world. The expansion of yoga is increasing. He said that on International Yoga Day, I have the privilege of coming to Kashmir, the land of yoga and meditation. We are feeling the power that we get from Yoga in Srinagar. I congratulate all the people of the country and those doing yoga in every corner of the world on International Yoga Day from the land of Kashmir. PM Modi said in his address that International Yoga Day has completed a historic journey of 10 years. In 2014, I had proposed International Yoga Day in the UN. This proposal of India was supported by 177 countries and this was a record in itself, since then Yoga Day is continuously making new records. He told that the number of people doing yoga is continuously increasing in the world, people's attraction towards yoga is also continuously increasing. On the call of Prime Minister Modi, the United Nations General Assembly had announced in December 2014 to celebrate International Yoga Day on 21st June every year. PM Modi has been leading the celebrations organized on Yoga Day every year since 2015.
