Huge uproar as UP govt looks to suspend key labour laws

Yogi Adityanath government's decision to suspend key labour laws amid economic crisis brought in by Coronavirus pandemic and lockdown has created a huge political uproar. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the Yogi Adityanath government on Twitter stating that the labourers are builders of the nation, not government's hostage.

The UP government defended its decision saying that these changes are necessary amid pandemic and resulting crisis to provide economic stimulus.
