Exclusive: Health Minister clears the air over vaccine controversy

Despite an ICMR letter claiming that a vaccine for Coronavirus (Covid-19) should be built by 15 August, Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has clarrified that it will not be possible. The health minister said that conventionally, a vaccine takes 2 years to be manufactured and by that time, it will be too late so, the spirit of the letter was to fast track the process. Earlier, the health ministry also rubbished the MIT report that by February 2021, India will witness over 2.87 lakh cases per day.
