View In AppRahul Gandhi in Aligarh: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi reached Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh on Friday (July 5) and met the families of those who lost their lives in the Hathras incident. He left for Aligarh and Hathras from Delhi in the morning itself. At around 7.30 am, Rahul Gandhi reached Pilkhana village in Aligarh, where he met the families of the victims and expressed their grief. 121 people died in a stampede during a satsang in Hathras on Tuesday (July 2), while dozens were injured. There was a religious preacher Suraj Pal's satsang in Fullerai village of Hathras district adjacent to Aligarh, in which thousands of people had gathered to participate. During this, a stampede broke out, in which people lost their lives by getting crushed. Most of the people killed in this accident are women. Suraj Pal's followers know him as Narayan Sakar Hari and Bhole Baba. The search for Baba is going on since the accident. At present, the police have registered an FIR and started investigation.
