View In AppWith the release of BJP's candidate list for the Haryana Assembly elections, dissent among party leaders has emerged. Laxman Nappa, the incumbent MLA from Ratia, has resigned from the party due to not receiving a ticket for the upcoming elections. Additionally, Haryana BJP's Farmers' Wing state president, Sukhvinder Mandi, has also decided to quit the party. Nappa's resignation is linked to the BJP's decision to nominate former MP Sunita Duggal for the Ratia seat instead of him. Duggal, who recently became active in the Ratia constituency, received the ticket despite local leaders' and workers' protests demanding a local candidate. Duggal had previously contested from Ratia in 2014 but lost narrowly, and later won the Sirsa seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Speculation is now rife that Nappa might join the Congress, with reports suggesting a potential meeting with former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda to discuss this move.
