View In AppThe Assam flood situation has slightly improved, with the number of affected individuals decreasing to 1.77 million as water levels recede. However, seven more people lost their lives on Tuesday, taking the total death toll to 92, with 79 deaths attributed to flooding. According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority, two deaths occurred in Cachar, and one each in Dhubri, Dhemaji, South Salmara, Nagaon, and Sivasagar districts. Over 48,000 people have taken refuge in relief camps, and 104,665 have received relief materials. Unfortunately, 159 wild animals in Kaziranga National Park have died due to the floods, while 133 have been rescued. The Brahmaputra River was flowing above the danger level at Nimatighat, Tezpur, Guwahati, and Dhubri. Other rivers exceeding danger levels are Burhi Dihing at Chenimari (Dibrugarh), Dikhou at Sivasagar, Disang at Nanglamuraghat (Sivasagar), Kopili at Dharamtul (Nagaon), and Kushiara at Karimganj.
