Despite over 10,000 deaths globally, why people aren't taking Coronavirus seriously?

Over two-and-a-half lakh people have been tested positive for novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) across the world and more than 10,000 are dead. Countless are in a lockdown over several countries and in India, the number of Corona positive is approaching 300.

Still, certain people like Kanika Kapoor are unable to understand the severity of the situation. Why is it that people don't take the risk of Coronavirus seriously?
