Defence Ministry approves procurement of HTT-40 trainer jets

Defence Ministry has approved the requirement to purchase 106 Hindustan Turbo Trainer-40 (HTT-40) aircraft in a meeting chaired by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. HAL has successfully developed the HTT-40 prototype of the Indian Air Forand as its certification process continues. The IAF is expected to initially order 70 trainers, the remaining 36 trainers will be purchased after operating the HTT-40 fleet at the IAF.
