The Delhi police are ready to assist the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) in the phased anti-demolition action that will begin today in Shaheen Bagh. Delhi police would deploy its officers as part of the MCD's fight against unlawful construction and habitation in Shaheen Bagh, senior police officials revealed to India Today. The MCD has made all required arrangements to demolish illegal buildings and encroachments in Shaheen Bagh today. Illegal encroachments would be removed from the Abu Fazal region of Shaheen Bagh, Kalindi Kunj, and other neighbouring localities, according to the South MCD's action plan.
