Prior to this, similar incidents were reported in Araria and Siwan. The bridge in Motihari was a construction project estimated to cost around ₹2 crore. The collapse happened near Chainpur station in the Ghodasahan block of East Champaran district. The construction work involved the laying of the bridge deck, with the structure spanning approximately 50 feet in length.
