Assembly By-elections Result: Results To Be Announced for 13 Assembly Seats in Seven States Today | ABP News

After the Lok Sabha elections, by-elections were held on July 10 for 13 assembly seats across seven states. The counting of votes for these seats began at 8 am today. Notable candidates in this election include Kamlesh Thakur, wife of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. The by-elections took place in the following seats: Raiganj, Ranaghat South, Bagda, and Maniktala in West Bengal; Badrinath and Mangalore in Uttarakhand; Jalandhar West in Punjab; Dehra, Hamirpur, and Nalagarh in Himachal Pradesh; Rupauli in Bihar; Vikravandi in Tamil Nadu; and Amarwada in Madhya Pradesh. These by-elections were necessitated by the death or resignation of sitting MLAs. The highest voter turnout was 78.38 percent in the Amarwada assembly seat of Madhya Pradesh. In West Bengal, Bagda had a 65.15 percent turnout, Raiganj 67.12 percent, Maniktala 51.39 percent, and Ranaghat South 65.37 percent. Bihar's Rupauli seat saw 51.14 percent voting. Himachal Pradesh recorded 65.78 percent turnout in Hamirpur, 75.22 percent in Nalagarh, and 63.89 percent in Dehra. Jalandhar in Punjab had a 51.30 percent turnout with 15 candidates competing in the by-election. Vikravandi in Tamil Nadu had a 77.73 percent turnout. Badrinath in Uttarakhand had the lowest turnout at 47.68 percent, with a direct contest between BJP's Rajendra Bhandari and Congress's Lakhpat Singh Butola. Mangalore in Uttarakhand had a 67.28 percent turnout. During the by-election, the BJP accused the TMC of obstructing the election process. Manas Kumar Ghosh, the BJP candidate from Raiganj, alleged that the ruling TMC tried to create disturbances at some polling booths during the voting.
