One passenger died and more than 30 were injured when a flight from London to Singapore was hit by turbulence. Passengers described a "dramatic drop" that sent those not wearing seatbelts into the cabin ceiling. The Boeing 777, carrying over 200 passengers, was diverted to Bangkok, where it landed at 15:45 local time (09:45 GMT) on Tuesday. Unconfirmed reports from airline tracking websites suggest that the Singapore Airlines flight may have dropped about 1,800 meters (6,000 feet) after hitting rough air over the Andaman Sea near Thailand. Social media images showed emergency services at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, where at least 10 ambulances were deployed. There were injuries and one fatality on board the Boeing 777-300ER. There were a total of 211 passengers and 18 crew on board.
