From India's development policies to Russia-Ukraine issue, listen to what S. Jaishankar said at UNGA

ABP News Bureau   |  25 Sep 2022 11:03 AM (IST)

S Jaishankar in UNGA: External Affairs Minister of India S Jaishankar has reprimanded China and Pakistan on the issue of terrorism in the UN. S Jaishankar said that countries defending UN designated terrorists are neither keeping their own interest nor their reputation in mind. No act of terrorism can be justified at all. The External Affairs Minister emphasized that India demands that the serious issue of Security Council reform should be discussed in depth.

Addressing a high-level session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), the foreign minister said that those who politicize the UNSC-1267 sanctions regime, sometimes to the extent of protecting declared terrorists, are doing so at their own risk.

Zero tolerance on terrorism - External Affairs Minister

The External Affairs Minister said that any remark, no matter what the motive, can never cover up blood stains. He said that India, which has been bearing the brunt of cross-border terrorism for decades, strongly advocates the approach of 'zero tolerance'. Along with this, on the issue of Ukraine, the Foreign Minister said that the ongoing conflict in Ukraine has increased the economic pressure, especially on food and energy.
