Delhi: Protest outside Bangladesh High Commission turns tense, BSP workers detained by police
The protest outside the Bangladesh High Commission in Delhi turned tense as BSP workers repeatedly attempted to breach police barricades and move towards the restricted area. Protesters demanded permission to reach the High Commission premises to register their protest over the killing of Deepu Das in Bangladesh and alleged violence against Hindus. Delhi Police, BSF and paramilitary forces were deployed in large numbers to control the situation. Senior police officials, including the DCP present at the spot, appealed to protesters to remain calm and disperse peacefully. Despite repeated warnings, several activists climbed barricades, leading to scuffles and detentions. Police detained multiple BSP workers to prevent escalation and restored barricading after it was briefly dismantled. The situation remains under control but tense.
