Black Fungus declared an epidemic in 10 States & 1 UT so far

In recent times in India, some states and union territories have been reporting cases of mucormycosis, also known as black fungus. In the current situation where corona cases are increasing on the one hand, in this situation, mucormycosis is becoming a cause for concern. In view of this, the Union Health Ministry has advised all the states to review their preparedness for prevention and control of infection.
