Range officer of Rajaji Tiger Reserve said that the reports of elephants contracting coronavirus are false and baseless. "All animals and staff at the Rajaji Tiger Reserve are coronavirus free, Ranger Anil Kumar Panauli said. Earlier reports were doing the rounds that the elephant of Rajaji Tiger Reserve has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
