Master Stroke: 50 per cent children deprived of mid-day meal in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar

The mid-day meal scheme introduced for children in schools is showing gasping in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. In these two states half children are unable to get mid-day meals.

This figure has come up in the meeting of Human Resource Development Ministry and Program Approval Board. National level 76% of children do not get mid-day meals. At primary level, 41% in UP and 47% in upper primary schools do not get mid-day meal.
