Lal Bahadur Shastri was the 2nd Prime Minister of India and a senior leader of the Indian National Congress political party.
"Who after Nehru?" was the answer after death of then Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru. After discussion, Lal Bahadur Shastri was appointed as Prime Minister of India. It was difficult to find a leader who can be represented by everyone. LB Shastri took very important decisions during 1965 India-Pakistan war. Teen Murti Bhawan was residence of former Prime Minister Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. After a letter, written by Indira Gandhi, then PM LB Shastri decided to move out of the residence of former PM Nehru.
