The Union home ministry was ready for the “partial withdrawal“ of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled Assam and Arunachal Pradesh following an improvement in the “security situation” in these states, government official said.
