'Heroine of the hijack', India's brave daughter Neerja Bhanot| Sansani

Born in Chandigarh in 1963, Neerja Bhanot was raised in Mumbai as a well-loved daughter in a family of five. Her two brothers loving called her “lado”. 
The Pan Am flight left Mumbai for the US on September 5th, 1986, with a stopover in Karachi. It was in Karachi that four armed Palestinian men from the Abu Nidal Organisation hijacked the plane. There were 380 passengers and 13 crew members on the plane when the hijacking took place.
