Heavy snow, rain to lash Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal on January 4| Skymet Weather Report

Due to the feeble Western Disturbances moving across the higher latitudes, mainly dry weather conditions were prevailing over most parts of the Western Himalayas making the winter performance in terms of rain and snow not so satisfactory over the hills of North India.
In fact, as on December 31, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand were largely rain deficient. Meanwhile, even after occurrence of rain and snow across most parts of Jammu and Kashmir, the state’s overall performance was also not so pleasing.
