Wayanad By-Polls: High Enthusiasm Among Workers Ahead of Priyanka Gandhi's Roadshow in Wayanad

After being announced as the Congress candidate for the Wayanad by-election, Priyanka Gandhi's name has been widely discussed in political circles. Her candidacy has sparked various debates, particularly because her brother, Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, previously held the Wayanad seat. Following the 2024 Lok Sabha election results, Rahul Gandhi had to vacate the Wayanad seat as per regulations, opting to represent Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh instead. This led to the by-election in Wayanad.

To challenge Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Navya Haridas, who previously contested the 2021 Assembly election from Kozhikode South, finishing in third place. She has also served as a Kozhikode Cooperative Councillor.
