The enforcement directorate of Friday transferred the joint director Satyavrat Kumar investigating Fugitive diamantaire Nirav Modi’s case. The officer is currently in the UK to appear in Westminster Magistrates Court in London where Nirav Modi and legal team will make a second bail application.
It is reported that the move is likely to affect Nirav Modi’s case as Kumar was the investigating officer in the case from the beginning. The case is currently being heard in London where Nirav Modi was brought to Westminster Magistrate court for his bail hearing. The hearing is expected to be presided over by Chief Magistrate Emma Arbuthnot, the same judge who had ordered the extradition of former Kingfisher Airlines boss Vijay Mallya last December.
