Hours after BJP demanded CBI investigation against former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav for his alleged involvement in a mining scam, claiming that his government was "hand in glove" with the accused in the case; both SP and BSP showcased their support for Akhilesh via press conference on Monday.

The opposition has now united against the ruling Bharatiya Janta Party government in the state as senior Samajwadi leader Ram Gopal Yadav addressed media, along with BSP leader Satish Mishra and claimed that CBI is being misused against Akhilesh.
